@Thorvik_EVE Oh, I understand passion. THere's of course a lot of logic people are missing, but that's ok.
Pray tell, what logic is missing here?
Well, a "lot" is an admitted overstatement. I was thinking specifically at the time though of the fact that _some_ people don't realize that NeX stuff on sale now can be purchased with in game ISK through purchasing PLEX.
...
Do you not think the high price of the NEX store excludes newer players from taking part? I remember first starting and how long it took me to save for my first battleship, the cheapest item on the store I believe is going for 100 mil isk, and the only way that's realistically going to get cheaper is if someone sells at a loss or plex prices drop.
I would love to understand the decision process behind selecting the prices for the store as I hope that would dispel the perception a lot of people have that you're trying to fleece your customers, personally that would make me a little sad if I thought that were true.
At the moment, with the few items that exist in store, you're looking at potentially a couple of billion isk and perhaps somewhere over $100 for a full outfit for you character - certainly more than it would cost for a full outfit in real life if one were shopping on a budget. It would help to know if you see this as the long term future for NEX and it will remain restricted to an exclusive few who are either prepared to sink a lot of real life cash into the game or those who have done such a good job of accumulating wealth in game that for them buying an item of clothing doesn't mean forgoing that next fancy ship.
Personally I would have expected a PLEX to _AT LEAST_ cover a full outfit for a character, and so was shocked to find it wouldn't even cover some single items. Maybe that me being a fool but my reasoning was that a PLEX could be divide into 3,500 AURUM and that was for a reason, and the reason was that you required that level of granularity to price items. With the current prices you could have split PLEX into just 35 AURUM and still had the prices you have.
I don't think a bad thing to have some exclusive or highly priced items, perhaps even some limited run ones for super exclusivity, but it does to me seem really silly not to have some more affordable ones to cater for all budgets.
Perhaps it would have been more advisable/beneficial to have revealed the pricing whilst the feature was still on SISI to get feedback, as I think the hardest thing would be to change the pricing on items once people have invested in them, as now you'll never be able to do it without upsetting someone.
